Intended use: The A1Care Analyzer is a bench top, point-of-care (POC) in vitro diagnostic (IVD) device for the measurement of HbA1c (%, mmol/mol) in whole blood samples (capillary and venous).
Intended user: The A1Care Analyzer is intended for use by healthcare professionals in laboratories such as physician’s office, clinics, and hospitals for patients with diabetes.
Technology principle: The A1Care Analyzer measures the concentration of HbA1c in a blood sample using an enzymatic method, whereas the total hemoglobin concentration is measured using the cyanomethemoglobin method. The resulting signals of both analyses are measured optically.

Warranty period and criteria: i-SENS, Inc., warrants that the A1Care Analyzer is free from defects in material and workmanship during normal, proper, and intended use for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase. This warranty applies under conditions of normal use and maintenance performed in accordance with the User Manual.
Test and Sampling Procedure : The cartridges should be warmed up for 20 min, if stored in the fridge. The sample collection device is in the cartridge. Remove it. Collect blood from finger. Insert the test cartridge into the analyzer. Press the sample collector into the cartridge
Control : A1Care HbA1c Control Kit consists of two liquids: level 1 (normal) and level 2 (abnormal) (Please note that the Control Kit can be viewed and purchased here)

Limitations: Total haemoglobin must be within 7–24 g/dL, very high levels of haemoglobin F (>10%), haemolytic anaemia, polycythaemia, homozygous HbS and HbS will cause lower than expected HbA1c

Interference: Interference was evaluated as per the CLSI EP07-A2 guideline with a range of substances. No measurable effects were noted.
